However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 34-year-old reliever suffered a stretched elbow ligament throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Martínez would miss 10-11 months of the season. Martínez has taken the mound for 33 relief appearances this season, nailing down 14 saves while notching a 2-6 record with a 4.56 ERA. The Nezahualcoyotl reliever has limited opposing batters to a .294 batting average. |
