The Math Says - Puddings Out of Playoffs

Rice Puddings closer Alfonso Salsa said it is a "bitter disappointment" for he and his teammates to miss the playoffs. The remarks came hours after the club was mathematically eliminated from 2040 postseason contention.
Rice last appeared in the postseason in 2037. This is their 3rd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 20 times in their 34-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Puddings have missed the playoffs 6 times.

Houston Captures Wild Card

The Houston Shastas could very well have acquired some new fans late this season, as the team's 2040 playoff chase saw them win the wild card as the season wound to a close.
"It's an exciting time to be a fan of the Shastas. I think we had people on the edge of their seats wondering what would happen," said closer Rod Walker.
What ended up happening is that the team's 32-25 record has allowed it to move on to the postseason, with a chance to win the 2nd USCBA Championship Series in franchise history.
"It's only going to get more exciting from here on in," Walker said.
