Beaufort Takes Championship Sunday, October 2nd , 2039 The Beaufort Loggerdoggers are bound for the Great Northern Cup. A 5-1 win over the Den Bosch Dykes at Den Bosch Park ended the Championship, 4-2. "We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said Yakamochi Kobayashi. "This could be the biggest celebration Beaufort has ever seen if we can win the Great Northern Cup." The state of the Great Northern League championship remains in doubt, but the Loggerdoggers certainly appear to be strong contenders. Kobayashi was named MVP of the Championship after he posted a .292 batting average, while adding 2 home runs, driving in 5 RBI and scoring 3 runs.
