Pérez Earns 300th Save In Leones Win Over Bureaucrats
Saturday, June 23rd, 2029
When Ricardo Pérez got to the ballpark today, he just knew it was going to be a special day.

The 29-year-old reliever was sitting just one save short of 300 for his career and anxious to reach that much-coveted milestone.

"I just had a feeling that today was the day," Pérez told reporters after the game, a 4-3 Havana Leones win over the Arlington Bureaucrats. "I was a bit nervous before the game, but there wasn't much time for nerves once I started to warm up."

The newest member of the 300 club pitched 1 innings, allowed no runs and 1 hit in his milestone effort.

Over his career Pérez has accounted for 300 saves. In 533 games, he has a 45-44 won-lost mark and 822 strikeouts in 615.2 innings with a 1.64 ERA.
