Grier Receives SL Wunderkind Award

He was a "talented and gifted ballplayer." That the way one BNN writer described the rookie left fielder for Neo-Tokyo in the article announcing him as the Sovereign League Wunderkind Award recipient. Jeffrey Grier came on the scene this year and quickly established himself as player to be reckoned with.

The 24-year-old Akira newcomer took the trophy by hitting .286 in 141 games this season and finished with 149 hits, 6 home runs, 48 RBIs and 92 runs scored.

He received 1 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Alfonso Ramos of the Neo-Tokyo Akira finished second in voting, while Steve Boyer of the Reno Zephyrs finished third.
