Neo-Tokyo downed the Shin Seiki Evas 8-2 to win the series 4-1. "There's no champagne if you lose, so it's a sweet thing to taste," said catcher Atsumori Kichida, who was named series MVP. For the series, Kichida hit .412 with a .444 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs. While they may not get the sweet taste of champagne this year, the Evas will no doubt be drowning their sorrows tonight. "It's never easy to lose a playoff series and I don't think there's a single guy in our room who is going to be able to easily accept that our season is now over," said Shin Seiki manager Paul Woods.
