Vampiros Pick Up 2-1 Win
|
Alberto Guerra could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Hermosillo Sols lost, dropping a 2-1 decision to the El Ray Vampiros at Vampiros Ballpark. António Lima earned the win to go to 5-3. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. El Ray has a 3-game win streak, while Hermosillo has lost 3 in a row.
El Ray took a 2-0 lead on Carlos Castro's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Castro hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Hermosillo pitcher Alberto Guerra visibly frustrated.
Castro said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
