The Acapulco Zambullidores del Acantilado and Zapopan Torrenas riveted fans at Torrenas Ballpark.
In a well-pitched game between the Zapopan Torrenas and the Acapulco Zambullidores del Acantilado, pitcher José Bernal was fantastic. The Zapopan right-hander helped his team secure the win, 3-1. Bernal got the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 3 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. Bernal allowed 1 run. The save went to Ramón Pérez, number 15 for him.
The Torrenas got a big at-bat from first baseman Juan Jose Montoya. For the game, Montoya went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 10th double of the season gave Zapopan a 3-1 lead.
In postgame comments, Bernal told the Zapopan Gazette: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
