The El Ray Vampiros trumped the Acapulco Zambullidores del Acantilado, 6-5, at Zambullidores del Acantilado Ballpark. El Ray center fielder Ángel Villanueva was terrific. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Arturo Luna got the save, the 6th for him this season. With the win, El Ray upped its record to 28-25.
Villanueva had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 forkball from Rubén Mejía, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Vampiros a 6-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Villanueva.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Villanueva.
