The Zapopan Torrenas and Ecatepec Morelos played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.

The Zapopan Torrenas picked up a win at Torrenas Ballpark, knocking off the Ecatepec Morelos, 3-2. Starting pitcher Sergio Trevino was a big reason why. Ramón Pérez finished to wrap up his 11th save.

The Torrenas got an important contribution from designated hitter Carlos Gonzáles, who in the bottom of the third punched a 0-2 cutter into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Torrenas ahead, 3-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gonzáles.

The second-place Torrenas have won 7 in a row.
