The Zapopan Torrenas outlasted the Merida Adelantados in an extra-inning thriller.
Behind a solid performance from center fielder David Pérez, the Zapopan Torrenas defeated the Merida Adelantados, 3-2. Pérez went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Torrenas. Today's win puts Zapopan at 24-21, while Merida falls to 19-26.
Zapopan used a timely hit from Tony Hernández to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Torrenas ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
Hernández called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
