Lions Pick Up 3-0 Win Over Charleston
|
The Amsterdam Lions got a magnificent effort from pitcher Richard Neely, who kept Charleston hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Lions win at Moultrie Field. Neely picked up the win for Amsterdam, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 9-2. Pat Condon earned the save, his 12th, for the Lions.
Amsterdam relied on the hitting of Norberto Escamilla to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Lions on top, 1-0. For the game, Escamilla had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Neely.
The Lions, at 31-29, sit in third place in the Imperial League Trans Atlantic.
