Coqui Drop 7-0 Decision to Lions
|
Amsterdam Lions pitcher Armando Sánchez was in fine form, leading his team past the San Juan Coqui, 7-0. Sánchez picked up the win for Amsterdam, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 10-6. The win elevated the Lions to 78-56.
Tomomi Harada had a big 2-run home run for the Lions in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Amsterdam leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Rory Soutar and swatted a home run to right. It was his 15th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lions ahead, 4-0.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Sánchez told the Amsterdam Times.
