The El Ray Vampiros defeated the Hermosillo Sols, 4-3, in Alianza Beisbol Al Sur de la Frontera action at Vampiros Ballpark. El Ray pitcher Félix López had a standout performance. Cris Castillo earned the save for El Ray, his 3rd. The 4th-place Vampiros improved to 15-15.
Marcos Lucero was a prime factor in the win for the Vampiros. In the bottom of the eighth with two out, the 26-year old second baseman hit a run-scoring single. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I like what I saw today," said El Ray manager Ángel Alvarado, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
