Morelos Pick Up 2-0 Win
|
The Ecatepec Morelos picked up a win at Ballpark of Guadalajara, knocking off the Guadalajara Chivas Rayadas, 2-0. Starting pitcher Ramiro Gómez was a big reason why. Earning his 7th save for Ecatepec was Rafael Ramírez. Ecatepec, now 14-14, holds down 5th place in the Zona Norte.
Tied up with the Chivas Rayadas in the top of the fifth inning, the Morelos got a boost from shortstop Rolando Mata. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Mata saw a 1-2 fastball from Juan López and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Ecatepec on top, 1-0.
Gómez called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
