Zephyrs Get 3-2 Win Versus Aurora
|
The Reno Zephyrs managed to get by the Aurora Borealis, 3-2, at Washoe Field. Reno designated hitter Harrison Neame set himself apart with his performance. Carmelo Lamberti earned the win to go to 6-1. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. The second-place Zephyrs improved to 30-22.
With Reno trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Neame hit a 2-run single off Aurora hurler Armando Batista. It was the 12th hit of the season for Neame and put his team ahead, 3-2.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Reno manager António Morales said.
