The Neo-Tokyo Akira topped the Niihama-shi Ghosts, 5-3, in Sovereign League action at Neo-Tokyo Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Neo-Tokyo pitcher Sergio Sánchez. Sánchez went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-12. The loss makes Niihama-shi 76-46.

The Ghosts had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Akira going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 13-year veteran Garry Charron came to the plate. Charron hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch sinker from Niihama-shi hurler Dave López. It was Charron's 16th double of the year.
