Gore Powers Thoroughbreds Offense
|
In a high-scoring contest between Kentucky and San Antonio, designated hitter Dan Gore was a difference-maker. Gore, who led the IL in extra base hits with 87 last year, distinguished himself in the 10-9 Kentucky win. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Matt Brown earned the save for Kentucky, his 9th of the year. Kentucky occupies second place in the Imperial League Dixie at 23-26.
Kentucky used the bat of Shu-de Mu to get the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Thoroughbreds ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"This game had a little bit of everything," said Gore.
