Dragons Stick Starbursts with 9-4 Loss
The 9-4 UAB win over Villanova was due largely to Russ Latham. The Dragons center fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. UAB, with the win, is 13-25.

Latham contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for UAB in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, Latham took a fastball from Eldon Voss and stroked the home run to right-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Dragons to leap in front, 5-3.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Latham told the UAB News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
