Scarlet Brutes Go Down to Defeat, 4-2
|
A 3-RBI performance from left fielder Jorge Nájera, who is tied for 9th in the USCBA COL with a .649 slugging percentage, led the Southern Miss Confederates to a win over the Ohio State Scarlet Brutes, 4-2. Keith Russell picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-0. He struck out 4 in 6.2 innings. The current losing streak for Ohio State has reached 5 games.
An important at-bat for Southern Miss came with one out in the top of the seventh. With a runner on 3rd, Nájera hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Confederates win.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Randolph Snow.
