Vulcans Deal Bears 5-3 Loss
|
Nassau starter Carlo Borsellino had a strong outing against the Birmingham Bears at Ballpark of Birmingham. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Nassau reliever Huibrecht van T Hof picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. James Johnson was saddled with the loss. Nassau is now 13-12.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Ludovico Ferzetti came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Birmingham pitcher James Johnson, he hit a 2-2 sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Nassau on top, 5-3.
Ferzetti called the triumph "a good team win."
