Industrialists Trip Mall Ratz, 4-3, in Extra Innings
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Hamilton Grounds enjoyed a good ballgame.
The Hamilton Industrialists did just enough to sneak past the Edmonton Mall Ratz, 4-3, at Hamilton Grounds. Hamilton pitcher Yasunobu Suzuki, in particular, had a standout performance. Hamilton reliever Kenny Goodman was the winner. His record is now 5-1. The losing pitcher was Gerrie de Jong.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the tenth, with Hamilton trailing 3-2, Andrew Lyle jumped on a first pitch fastball from Gerrie de Jong for a 2-run home run, sending the Industrialists to a walk-off win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Hamilton manager Robert Davis.
Hamilton's record now stands at 32-17, placing them second in the Pacific Alliance Maple Leaf.
