Calgary and Sherwood Park got after it at Hoods Ballpark.
Calgary picked up a win at Hoods Ballpark, toppling the Sherwood Park Hoods, 4-2. Pitcher Fraser MacNaughton was one of the reasons the Stampede triumphed. MacNaughton got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. MacNaughton allowed 2 runs.
Calgary used a well-timed hit by Roberto Matta to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stampede ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning never gets dull," said Matta.
Calgary is second in the Pacific Alliance Wild Rose with a record of 24-21.
