Borealis Clip Bears, 2-1
|
Bakersfield wasted a solid 7.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Oliver Flores, losing to Aurora, 2-1, at The Oaks at Aera Field. Aurora has a mark of 15-14 after the win.
Aurora used a timely hit from José Alemán to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Borealis ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
After the game, Alemán refused to speak to a reporter for the Aurora Daily News. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
