|
Maine second baseman Corey Gorman contributed to his team's 5-3 win over the Narragansett Seagulls. Gorman went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Lobsters. The winning pitcher was Norberto Hernández. He's now 6-3. He went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Lobsters. Bob Simms got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Gorman had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 cutter from Kinji Mori, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Lobsters a 5-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Gorman.
"Anyone who says he's not out there thinking about personal accomplishments is not telling the truth," Gorman said later.
The Lobsters now have a mark of 55-27.
