Badgers Handle Borealis, 4-3
|
The Kalamazoo Badgers trumped the Aurora Borealis, 4-3, at Northern Lights Park. Kalamazoo third baseman Raúl Ibarra was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. Cheh Zhang got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. With the win, Kalamazoo elevates its record to 10-10.
With Kalamazoo leading 3-0 in the top of the fifth, Ibarra hit a splitter from Armando Batista for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Badgers ahead, 4-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ibarra. "And not try to do too much."
