Oilers Sting Loggers, 2-1
|
Ballpark of Queens was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Long Beach rode a fine outing from starter Héctor Franco to victory over the Tacoma Loggers at Ballpark of Queens. The final score was 2-1. Chris Howe snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 1-0 on the season. Hayden Rudder finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Long Beach took a 2-1 lead on Will Simpson's 3rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Simpson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Tacoma pitcher Germán Godina visibly frustrated.
"Héctor did a tremendous job," said Long Beach manager Gerardo Vargas.
The loss has the Loggers at 8-4.
