Raucous Ballpark of Rosarito Crowd Propels Monjas del Vuelo to 6-1 Victory; Series Tied at 1
|
The Rosarito Monjas del Vuelo knotted up the Wild Card at Ballpark of Rosarito today, thanks in large part to starter Lúcio Suárez. Suárez quieted the San Luis Rio Colorado Rapidos Blancos, enabling Rosarito to grab the 6-1 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
In his 97-pitch effort, Suárez allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 8 innings. He walked 0 and struck out 6.
"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Suárez, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 10th , 2039 at Ballpark of San Luis Río Colorado.
