Onryou Squelch Olympians Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Gakidou Onryou beat the Nagano Olympians, 4-0, at Gakidou Fields. Starting pitcher Martín González was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. In 6.1 innings, González surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. Today's win puts Gakidou at 66-61, while Nagano falls to 32-95.
The Onryou got a big hit from right fielder George Young. In the bottom of the sixth, Young pounded a solo home run to left-center. His 8th home run of the season put the Onryou ahead, 2-0.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," González told the Gakidou Observer.
