Island HS Resolve Tested in 2-1 Win
The Island HS Wonders had to overcome a fine effort from Point Grey HS pitcher Ernesto Márquez to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Wonders Ballpark. Márquez went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Island HS reliever Lewis Rothwell was the winner. His record is now 4-3. Jack Meadows took the loss. The win elevated the Wonders to 19-19.

The Wonders procured the win, in large part because of pinch hitter Patrick Merriweather. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Merriweather said.
