Spell Swords Get Past Medicine Hat for 4-3 Win
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Lodoss Spell Swords and Medicine Hat Drillers were able to complete their ballgame.
Lodoss starter Edgardo Blanca pitched well against the Medicine Hat Drillers at Forcelia Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Lodoss reliever Manny Alonso picked up the win, upping his record to 5-5. Gerard Scott absorbed the loss.
Kirk Phillips was the walk-off hero for Lodoss. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Spell Swords first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The house was rockin'," said Phillips.
Lodoss, at 54-85, holds down last place in the Pacific Alliance Cherry Blossom.
