Hitmen Sink Trendsetters, 4-2
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
New Jersey Hitmen starter Jin-guo Yang was in fine form against the New Orleans Trendsetters at New Frontier Park, leading his team to a win, 4-2. New Jersey's record now stands at 64-48, placing them second in the Imperial League Seaboard.
New Jersey relied on the hitting of Don Washington to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hitmen on top, 3-1. For the game, Washington had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said New Jersey skipper Ieyoshi Ishikawa.
