Lodoss pitcher Héctor Mendoza did his part in helping his team beat the Ikari Warriors, 3-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Mendoza went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 0. His record improves to 8-8. Manny Alonso closed the door for Lodoss, picking up his 18th save of the year.
Lodoss relied on the bat of Sosa Hirano to get the win. The third baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Spell Swords ahead, 2-0. For the game, Hirano had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Peter Gore. "That was the problem."
The Spell Swords sit in last place in the Pacific Alliance Cherry Blossom with a record of 40-72.
