Schumacher Leads Drillers to 5-0 Win over Mothra
Medicine Hat beat Kumamoto on the strength of starter Ira Schumacher's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-0. With the win, the Drillers improved to 51-47.

Schumacher earned the win, going 7.1 strong innings for Medicine Hat. The native of Sint Anthonis, The Netherlands, allowed just 1 hit, while striking out 8. Kumamoto hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.

"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Schumacher said. "That's how it goes."
