Badgers Take Down Borealis, 1-0
|
Aurora got a terrific performance from pitcher Henry Cluett, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kalamazoo Badgers. Kalamazoo won the Portage Park contest, 1-0. Cluett threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Spencer Frearson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.1 innings. His record is now 6-3. Earning his 16th save of the year was Jesús Carlos.
Foppe Ros, the Kalamazoo catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 1-0, Badgers. For the game, Ros went 1 for 3.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ros.
The triumph puts Kalamazoo at 78-72 for the season.
