Flores Leads West Virginia to 2-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the West Virginia Alleghenies and the Havana Leones, pitcher José Flores was the difference between victory and defeat. The West Virginia right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Alleghenies win. Gustavo Hernández sewed up the save, his 3rd. The first-place Alleghenies have won 11 consecutive games.
The Leones had little chance against Flores, who overpowered Havana hitters and struck out 11.
"This team is flying high right now," said Flores after the game.
