Lions Lose to Thoroughbreds, 2-1
|
Behind an impressive start by Dong-hak Yi, Kentucky beat Amsterdam, 2-1. Odmar Bickford got the save, his 4th in 10 chances. With the win, the Thoroughbreds improved to 45-35.
In the bottom of the sixth, Kentucky left fielder Kyle Ferguson put his team on top. With two out and a runner on 2nd, he hit his 14th home run of the year. Amsterdam pitcher Roberto Colón served it up. Just like that, the Thoroughbreds were ahead, 2-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Kentucky skipper Paul Conner. "I can't complain."
