Losing Streak Continues for Maulers with 6-4 Loss to Thoroughbreds
Benefiting from Pedro Bermúdez's productive game, the Kentucky Thoroughbreds downed the Manchester Maulers, 6-4. Bermúdez was 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Thoroughbreds. Valke Petiet went 5.2 innings for Kentucky to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. His record improves to 6-5. Manchester is in the throes of a 10-game losing streak.

The Maulers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Thoroughbreds going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the two-time All-Star Shu-de Mu came to the plate. Mu hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 curveball from Manchester hurler Derek Valera. It was Mu's 13th home run of the year.

"I can only hope we've hit rock bottom," lamented losing manager Justin Jackson in postgame remarks.
