Yuji Yamashita never let Bakersfield get something going. The Niihama-shi right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Ghosts to a 4-1 win. The Bears, now 58-81, have lost 4 in a row.

Gilberto Fernández, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Fernández contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put Niihama-shi up, 2-0.
