|
Aguadilla Roadrunners starter Jorge Valentín turned in a sterling performance against the Trujillo Alto Maracas, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Valentín went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 7-3. Rod Aguilar earned the save, his 3rd, for the Roadrunners.
In the bottom of the fifth, Cisco Heredia delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Aguadilla left fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Roadrunners in front, 2-1.
"Nice win for us," said Valentín. "Now we'll go after the next one."
Aguadilla has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
