Trade Between KUR and HYA

#1 Post by Shinkansen »

Well, this effectively ends my season. I lose most of my big league talent here, but it's all for a good cause, the future.

HYA Receives:
SP Kokei Yamashita (AAA)
CF Katsumi Hayagawa
MR Takanobu Murata
MR Kyoji Uchiyama
$7,500,000

KUR Receives:
RF Sadao Kamida
2B Hirohisa Inoue
1B Nobuo Ota
SS Mitsuhide Sato
MR Naofumi Kumagai
CF Yoshikazu Nakano
SP Juan Avila
RF Felix Mendez (AAA)
C Hideaki Hashimoto (A)

I lose pretty much every good player I own to acquire one more prospect. I eat a good bit of bad contracts too, even with the $7.5M. Uchiyama needs a change of scenery, he's really not performing up to par.

First time doing this, I confirm. I move a solid SP prospect, but fill all my holes on offense and pick up a couple decent prospects too. I also dump some bad contracts that are pretty much useless for the next few years.

This trade does not appear to meet the guidelines set forth in the constitution, though technically they can get away with it if they split the deal into two pieces (which, to me, always kinda made this rule fairly weak):
No more than five players may be included by a team in a single trade.

Charlie Cooper is proving to be the biggest wheeler-dealer in the LRS this side of Kevin Vail  . A great addition to the league.

But, yes, as RonCo points out, its not a legal deal and should be split in two. I'd urge Donald, Charlie and any of our new owners to double check the trade rules in the Constitution for its intricacies before posting any deal. Even us veteran owners need an occasional reminder, like when we try to trade a recent draft pick :-B .

Ron, I think the value of this rule is to prohibit a 6-for-1 or 7-for-1 sort of thing where a player swaps a stud for a roster makeover. But even that could be easily circumvented by adding in a bum on the one side.

Yeah. I figure that the other rules really make that unnecessary, though. I mean, why do we care if a guy throws in 10 18 year olds in a deal as long as folks view it as basically square?

Actually, this is a limitation of OOTP itself - the game only allows 5 players per trade. Teams are more than welcome to split up deals involving more than 5 players without feeling like they are gaming the system.
