WV 2023 Tribute to Vic Caleca

While the world of PEBA and real life run in parallel, sometimes tragedy in one crosses over to the other. As the league has heard the wonderful GM of Scotland Vic Caleca passed away on March 1 (IRL).  The front office and team in West Virginia are deeply saddened by his passing.  Vic had talked with me frequently and would often tell him how he was rooting for his team, except the one time they met in the playoffs. What made those conversations so special, were most of them usually did not involve West Virginia, but they would talk about the Scottish and their history or even our personal lives.  Vic had a love for the history of his team and as I used to run the team back when it was in the LRS as Fushi Yugi and had most of the history still in my brain.  Those talks will be missed and after speaking with management, the West Virginia Alleghenies will wear a special patch to honor Vic this year. We hope to have a season that would make Vic proud, but the one thing that is certain, you will be missed fine sir.
