Seoul Crushers owner Roh Moo-hyun has given up on the team.  Some say he was depressed at the horrid ticket sales and growing red ink the club has seen over the years.  Friends and family say that he had lost anywhere from $10-$35 million over the past few years.  His wife, Jeong Moo-hyun, said the last she heard he was on the phone trying to sell the team to the highest bidder.

Mr. Moo-hyun has seemed increasingly upset in recent years.  Recently, this has come to a head.  Mr. Moo-hyun has been frustrated in his efforts to sell, however, as no bidders have demonstrated a willingness to absorb Seoul’s debt.

Mrs. Moo-hyun mentioned that neither she nor her family would retain control of the Crushers.  The family will be looking for a new owner.  They’re putting the team up for sale for a yet-to-be-announced price, but as fair market value goes, it could be anything.  The family clearly wants nothing to do with the Crushers from this day forth.

I am sure the red-inked Crushers will find an owner soon.  More to come soon.  This is Tricia Takanawa for the Takanawa Times.
