Franco Rips Cairo for 5 Hits Friday, September 13th , 2041 Martín Franco was at the head of a Addis Ababa hit parade at The Rift. The second baseman went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Rifters to a nice 12-0 victory over the Cairo Pharaohs. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Franco told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Pharaohs skipper Lyle Ferrell said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
