Rifles Win Round 3 Thursday, May 22nd , 2042 Eton shortstop Stuart Leadbetter couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Round 3. "It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Leadbetter moments after his club eliminated the Montego Bay HS Mariners to advance to the Round 4. Eton won the final game by a score of 1-0 at Mariners Ballpark and took the series 4-1. "We won the series and that's the main thing," Leadbetter said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted." For the series, Leadbetter hit .556 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs. "He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Montego Bay HS manager Donald Bates. The Eton Rifles don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Taitung HS Hermits - Dunedin HS Scots series. Taitung HS leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 4 schedule will be announced after the Round 3 finishes.
