Mariners Prevail, as Round 2 Goes to the Wire Thursday, May 15th , 2042 It went the distance, but the Montego Bay HS Mariners finally disposed of the Hoorn Schooners 6-3 in the series clincher at Hoorn Grounds. Winning the finale gave the Mariners the series, 4-3. They will now advance to the Round 3. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Montego Bay HS first baseman Tony Spokes. He batted .344 in the series, collecting 4 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. "Tony deserves it," said Mariners manager Donald Bates. "He was the glue that held our club together." The Montego Bay HS Mariners will play against the Eton Rifles in the next round. Eton won their series against the San Felipe HS Spaniards 4 games to 3.
