Cuevas Blisters Gonaives HS Thursday, May 1st , 2042 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Bernardo Cuevas, it came around today. The 15-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Spaniards Ballpark to pace the 8-2 San Felipe HS Spaniards victory over the Gonaives HS Revolution. Gonaives HS skipper Armando Navarro told reporters in the press room that "Cuevas deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Cuevas hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Bernardo Cuevas doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. Cuevas is batting .353 this season in 49 games with 9 home runs, 35 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 60 hits in 170 at-bats. View Boxscore |
