Black Bears Al Burkett Hurt Monday, May 5th , 2042 Al Burkett is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the Chatham-Kent Canada organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 9-10 months with a torn posterior cruciate ligament. The 20-year-old third baseman suffered the injury running the bases in a recent game against the Pontificia Universidad Padres. This year, Burkett is hitting .311 with 7 home runs and 26 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .356 clip and scored 30 runs. |
