LDBI-DOM WL Outstanding Hitter Award Goes To Martínez

The future looks extremely bright for José Martínez. At the age of 25, many players are still trying to find their way in Liga Dominicana de Beisbol Invernal.
Martínez has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Liga Dominicana de Beisbol Invernal Outstanding Hitter Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .311 this year, that's for sure," the first baseman said.
The Bani Depredadores del Peravia star also put up a .399 on-base percentage this year, with 71 hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 11 home runs, 39 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Lorenzo Romero of the Moca Segadoras de Cafe finished second in voting, while José Castro of the Bani Depredadores del Peravia finished third.
