Gabriel Hernández Hurt, Out for Year Saturday, October 18th , 2042
The doctors have spoken and Gabriel Hernández of the Merida Adelantados didn't like what he heard. The 27-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Hernández sustained his season-ending injury during the Ciudad Acuna Mariachis game yesterday at Adelantados Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Merida medical staff reported Hernández had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.
His record this year is 2-4 in 15 starts and Hernández has a 2.97 ERA.
